Looking back, Cooking Forward

Mary Brady: Looking Back Cooking Forward includes a rich collection of stories, along with Mary’s own personal and cherished family recipes that became favorites over the years so much so that they made it onto her popular restaurant menus. Many have been featured on numerous television cooking segments and in newspapers and periodicals in the Detroit market. The book is filled with over 60 mouthwatering recipes, each showcased with a beautiful photo and written in her warm, inspired style. 

Mary Brady’s culinary career has been a labor of love especially exemplified when she received her Certified Executive Chef (CEC) designation by the American Culinary Federation (ACF). Mary was the second woman in the state of Michigan, at the time, to achieve this accomplishment.

Diamond Jim Brady’s Bistro Bar in Novi, Michigan, was Mary’s pride and joy for over 30 years, along with her late husband, Tom Brady, Sr. Tom was the son of Detroit restaurateur Jim Brady, who founded the original family restaurant in the mid-50s in Detroit. In late 2022, Mary sold the Bistro to focus on further culinary and personal endeavors — including authoring this cookbook.
