Fuzzy Navel Mimosas

Okay, this is an oldie with a new twist. Peach schnapps was first distilled in 1984 and was marketed toward young drinkers in search of fun and not too concerned about taste. A “fuzzy navel” is a mix of vodka, orange juice and schnapps. Fuzzy refers to the peach and navel to the orange. In order to cut the sweetness and elevate the sophistication, I suggest squeezing fresh orange juice and finishing with a topper of good champagne. Yum!

Ingredients for 2 Mimosas

4 ounces fresh squeezed orange juice

2 ounces peach schnapps

2 ounces vodka of choice

1 split of champagne

Preparation

Mix orange juice, schnapps and vodka over ice in a cocktail blender cup.

Stir until very chilled.

Strain into champagne flutes or wine glasses and top with the champagne.
